Gathering Drops ring
Unevenly sized granules, a cluster of smooth wet pebbles.
Every day I'm by the sea, whether sitting on the sand dunes watching its hypnotic motion, or in and under the water, being drawn by the swell. The waves can be ferocious, their power incredible as they hurl water against cliff and rock with a deafening crash, salty droplets flung high into the air to rain down all around. Underwater, whirlpools of bubbles spin furiously while the muted thunder of the waves roar overhead.
Droplets earrings
Well this looks very calm in comparison but loved exploring the water droplets and bubbles theme constructing this series with silver granules.
It's tricky- those little balls do not want to stay where you put them and insist on rolling about all over the place. I could have made one earring and cast an identical one from it to match- would have saved a lot of fiddly work- but this way each one is unique and slightly different.
Droplets earstuds
Drops, bubbles, or some form of coral, a globular rubbery sea creature peering out from the depths... maybe too much?
Droplets ring
There's something about this one that reminds me of Doctor Who... you know, those metallic blobs on the daleks...
Rain ring
The opposite of the other granule jewellery featured, I hammered random circular indentations to give that Sunday afternoon feeling of watching rain gather on the windowpane.
All my pretty little granules made by melting down tiny scraps of silver on a charcoal block. Great for using up those useless leftover bits of silver and creating randomly sized balls.
