Pearl Shell earstuds
Subtle reticulation gives a lovely texture to the silver, framing the faint blush of the freshwater pearls.
Group show at a gallery in Glebe. I had a fondness for pearls at the time as you can see from the examples here.
Mermaid earrings
I wanted to create a mysterious underwater feel too these earrings, the possibility that a mermaid collected all the precious pearls from the sea floor and linked them together. The pearls are all different, uneven shapes with smoothed silver clinging to the sides to hold them in, almost like beautiful barnacles. They are joined together by tiny curls of wire to allow for some natural movement.
I love and hate these earrings. They took me so long to do and so much fiddly repetitive work that I was glad to finish them and move onto something completely different. They sold straight away though so I only have a few pictures to remind me how much I love the finished piece.
Pearly Queen ring
Elegant and understated, the kind of jewellery that makes me feel like Grace Kelly as soon as I put it on!
